‘Come write with me’ events were 3 days of on-campus writing retreat organised for UCL early career researchers by EDEN (Environment Domain Early-career Network), the early career networks of the domains: Neuroscience, Personalised Medicine, Populations & Lifelong Health, and UCL’s organisational development (HR).

February 16 2017 Using writing retreats to facilitate academic writing Prof Rowena Murray (Professor of Education, Director of Research, University of Western Scotland)
" This talk by Prof Rowena Murray discussed her successful method for using short, structured writing retreats to facilitate academic writing. This was followed by a lively a discussion over snacks and drinks, around the ways in which EDEN can support writing activities of early career researchers.

February 16 2017 Three short sessions: Writing a blog Ben Goodwin (Policy Manager, Institution of Civil Engineers), Writing for policy Dr Carla Washbourne (Lecturer, STEaPP, UCL), Working with the media Ruth Howells (Deputy Head of Media Relations, UCL)
" These three short talks and discussion gave some insight in to the opportunities for spreading our bright ideas and engaging with a wider audience, starting conversations outside of academia.

" This workshop was split into a short talk by Ian Caswell (Journal Manager, UCL Press) and an interactive discussion, where the participant shared tips on the career critical topic of “Getting published”.
