Requirements and Financial Conditions

Applications must lay the basis for high quality and competitive major research applications for external funding.

NB: All applicants will be required to accept the requirements detailed below when they submit their applications

Requirements

  • The Principal Investigator must be a UCL social scientist (read our statement about the terms "social scientist" and "social science")
  • At least one of the Co-Investigators must be a UCL non-social scientist
  • The Principal Investigator and the Co-Investigator(s) must be UCL academic members of staff (postdoctoral level/equivalent or above)
  • Principal Investigators must only submit one application as a Principal Investigator in this call. Principal Investigators may act as Co-Investigators in other applications
  • The Principal Investigator's period of employment at UCL enables him/her to receive CSSD funding that will be administered by his/her department
  • Applicants cannot receive detailed individual feedback should their application be unsuccessful
  • If successful applicants will be expected to submit a brief Outcomes Report in November 2018
  • If successful applicants will be expected to acknowledge the support received from CSSD in promotional materials related to the supported activities, and in attributable publications

Financial Requirements and Restrictions

  • The costed activities described in this proposal must be completed by 31 July 2018
  • All costs associated with the proposed activities must be claimed and paid for by 31st July 2018
  • If you are unable to complete the proposed activities or, if the funds you receive will not be used in total by 31st July 2018, you agree to contact Michael Reade (m.reade@ucl.ac.uk / 28713) immediately and arrange for any unused funds to be transferred back to the Office of the Vice Provost (Research)
  • CSSD cannot manage awarded funds on your behalf, and that this will be the responsibility of the department that receives the funds
