Towards remotely assessing heritage environments and materials

Start: Apr 23, 2013 10:00 AM
End: Apr 23, 2013 12:00 PM

Location: Bartlett School of Graduate Studies, University College London, Central House, 14 Upper Woburn St, London WC1H0NN

The two-hour seminar will feature two presentations from Dr Henoc Agbota
on his research from the AHRC/EPSRC Science and Heritage Programme
Post-Doctoral Fellowship 'Accessible Heritage' project. The project has
developed a tool for climate monitoring and remote assessment of
cultural materials through continuous nanogramme scale weight
monitoring. The system uses piezoelectric quartz crystals to monitor an
array of different materials, organic and inorganic. The project has
also focused on issues surrounding environment and air pollution
monitoring in developing countries. There will be a presentation by
guest speaker Dr Marianne Odlyha on environment monitoring with
piezoelectric quartz crystals.

Attendance at the Seminar is free of charge.
