Justice & Equality
Launched in 2016, the UCL Grand Challenge of Justice & Equality will focus on the barriers that people face to just solutions and equality of opportunity. Research will examine why societal structures limit justice and sustain inequalities, while considering radical solutions to change the status quo.
This new Grand Challenge will fund cross-disciplinary work at UCL focussing on access to education, health, technology and resources around the world. It is also keen to examine inequality, exclusion and displacement, cultural heritage and diversity and barriers to democratic participation.
This Grand Challenge encompasses academics from across UCL, including co-chairs from the Laws and Education departments. Find out more about who's involved. It will support UCL researchers to make new and intense collaborations across a whole range of disciplines at the university. At the same time, the programme’s ultimate purpose is to see knowledge generated by research and scholarship at UCL achieve real-world influence.
Justice & Equality is one of six UCL Grand Challenges – find out more about how the whole programme works.
